Harris, Mortensen and Zellweger Move to 'Appaloosa'
New western attracts trio
Perhaps westerns will become the new fad now that torture-horror is on the outs as another one has attracted an impressive trio of actors. Variety reports that Ed Harris, Viggo Mortensen and Renee Zellweger are set to star in Appaloosa for Harris to direct from a script he co-wrote with Robert Knott.
New Line is already set to distribute the feature adapted from Robert B. Parker's novel of the same name, centered on a pair of friends hired to protect a lawless town suffering at the hands of a renegade rancher. The arrival of an attractive widow disrupts their plans.
Production is scheduled to begin on October 1 in New Mexico.
