One television show that has caught my attention is NBC's "Hannibal" based on the classic Thomas Harris character immortalized by Anthony Hopkins in The Silence of the Lambs. Now this character comes to television in the form of an NBC series featuring Mads Mikkelsen as Dr. Hannibal Lecter in a story that will begin with Harris' "Red Dragon" and the relationship between Lecter and FBI agent Will Graham (Hugh Dancy).
Today two new international trailers have arrived, quadrupling the length of the previous domestic tease.
The series will premiere on April 4, directed by David Slade (30 Days of Night, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse) and and along with Mikkelsen and Dancy, the show features Laurence Fishburne as Agent Jack Crawford, a character previously played by Harvey Keitel, Scott Glenn and Dennis Farina, Gillian Anderson will play Dr. Bedelia Du Maurier, Lecter's therapist, and Lance Henriksen is also aboard for one episode.

What! No eye patch.
I really want this to be good. Silence of the Lambs is one of my favorite films (and Red Dragon ain't too shabby either). This cast is more than solid...
More than anything, I just really want to see more horror being produced on TV, and not just on cable venues like AMC and FX. A mainstream horror series on network would be huge for the genre.
NBC doesn't know how to handle TV so it's hard to really get excited for a show anymore. Awake was one of the greatest shows of the past decade. Canceled.
Are they saying that Hannibal Lecter is the tooth fairy???!!!
Looking at the trailer some how or other this Dr. Lecter doesn't seem to fit the Thomas Haris's Dr. Lecter, who is quiet silent with no emotions, not so animated...
Mads Mikkelsen has some big shoes to fill...
