I am not sure if this is the trailer that was shown at Comic Con or not as none of the RopeofSilicon folks were able to get to the Dimension Films presentation, but it is actually the first time I have seen any kind of video from Rob Zombie's remake of Halloween and I gotta say I liked it.

It doesn't look like he is going for over the top gore and perhaps focusing more on thrills. I am not one of those folks that think the first one is such a gem that it can't be touched and I am interested in seeing it. Click here to check out the new trailer for yourself and let me know your thoughts in the comments below if you have the time.

Halloween hits theaters August 31.

Oh, and if you want to see a new TV Spot check this out here (thanks to Arrow in the Head for this one):

It looks promising. I'm not much of a fan of the original either, and I did actually like The Devil's Rejects a little bit. My main droog Malcolm McDowell is always awesome, and I have a feeling that after this, I'll want to treat him to a nice glass of milk.

Now unless the article is corrected after I post this, as of right now the trailer being advertised as 'new' has been online for months now. Yes, the TV spot is new, but the new theatrical trailer that is due out soon is still not out. What this site is featuring is the teaser trailer. In fact when you go to the page dedicated to Halloween on this site the teaser trailer and this 'new' trailer are the same video.

  3. Good catch, I rarely spend the time trying to get Internet Explorer to run Yahoo's miserable player that I hadn't checked. However, I still haven't heard from anyone, not even people that were there as to what was shown at Comic Con… I thought I heard about a trailer, but nothing more.

The theatrical trailer was shown at Comic Con, yes. Also, a clip was shown apparently. Rob Zombie's myspace for the movie has stated that the trailer shown at Comic Con should be out any day now – and that comment was made days ago, so one could assume that it may be out tomorrow for all wek now. As for the movie itself, I wasn't a fan of Zombie's previous films, but I like what I'm seeing with the Halloween remake and I'm hoping for the best with it.

  5. I actually thought Zombie's other films looked like B-level horrors I wouldn't have been interested in so I skipped 'em. However, I like the Halloween story and hope this one will do something to give me a chill. I like gore just as much as any horror fan, but I really like a horror that can manage to creep me out as well.

I used to be a huge horror fan, that is before 'gore and torture' became the norm. I loved the original Halloween (and Nightmare and Friday the 13th) and have seen parts of Zombies other 'horror' flicks so thought this would likely be a complete travesty. Having now seen this trailer, I'm thinking maybe it won't be so bad. I'll still wait for the DVD release though.
