Haggis Back to Touch Up 'Bond 22'

Writer returns the same as he did for 'Casino Royale'

Paul Haggis is back to do a little work on the script for James Bond 22, much in the same way he did for Casino Royale reports the Los Angeles Times. Despite a busy schedule finishing up In the Valley of Elah he will be reworking the screenplay that Royale writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade just completed.

The Times give Haggis credit saying his rewrite on Royale gave it the edgier credibility it needed to hook a new generation of fans and score the franchise's biggest box office — $588 million worldwide.

An interesting note in the article tells us that director Roger Michell (Venus) and screenwriter Ted Griffin (Ocean's Eleven) were briefly attached to the Bond 22 project, and Haggis had turned down the offer to helm it. As of right now the film still doesn't have a director even though there have been rumors around as to who the front-runners are as the Times regurgitates what LatinoReview already told us with the four names Tony Scott, Jonathan Mostow, Marc Forster and Alex Proyas in the running.
