Sandler and the Gang Return in 'Grown Ups 2' Trailer

I'd go see it, but I'm afraid I wouldn't know what's going on

I didn't see the first Grown Ups film so obviously I won't make an effort to see the sequel, after all, I'd be completely lost. In fact, I didn't even bother to watch this Grown Ups 2 trailer. Why would I? The narrative arcs and growth shown in the characters after one full feature film would more than likely have me staring at the screen, confused by what I was seeing. So, I'll resort to the studio-provided synopsis to let us in on what exactly is going on here:

The all-star comedy cast from Grown Ups returns (with some exciting new additions) for more summertime laughs. Lenny (Adam Sandler) has relocated his family back to the small town where he and his friends grew up. This time around, the grown ups are the ones learning lessons from their kids on a day notoriously full of surprises: the last day of school.

Along with Sandler the film co-stars Kevin James, Chris Rock, Rob Schneider, David Spade, Salma Hayek, Maya Rudolph, Maria Bello, Nick Swardson and I think Taylor Lautner and Shaquille O'Neal are in there somewhere.

Grown Ups 2 hits theaters on July 12, watch the trailer below.

Your sequel's in trouble when you have to show funny scenes from the first movie in your trailer.

Also, no Rob Schneider in the trailer? Is it just a cameo, or is he not in it? And how is Rob Schneider the one with the most self respect not to return to Grown Ups 2? He did InAPPropriate Comedy for God's sake.

The first Grown Ups movie was by no means what I would call "good", but I had some fun with it nevertheless. Corny as it sounds, I like small-town movies about friendship that take place in the summer. Kind of reminds me of my childhood. Even though I'm not expecting a great narrative or hilarious jokes by any means, I'll still be checking this one out.

im gonna say something positive about this, i think Chris Rock is genuinely talented.........apart from that its total shit

I think I chuckled 3 times. The first was the moose standing on two legs, which was then ruined with urine. The second was Taylor Lautner, just because it looks like he isn't trying anymore, and that is fun. The third was the car wash group, immediately ruined by a Cherry Pie routine. Needless to say, will not see

    ...WTF was that?

these people get paid millions, MILLIONS!!!!

    • G-Man

Regardless of the perceived quality, the first Grown Ups movie made $271 million. Why shouldn't they get paid well? Clearly some people liked it / were interested. In my mind, these actors, directors, crew, etc. should get paid more than more acclaimed films that churn negative profits.

my point is that a million dollars is an awful lot of money and unfortunately people do tend to turn out for base level films where most of the jokes are regurgitated from other base level films and films where integrity, character and plot often are ignored, its a pretty crazy situation but hey, so it goes

      Can't disagree with you there

thats good as im really tired, that last reply took a lot out of me

Doesn't look awful, but probably won't be as good as the first one either.
