David Goyer is taking DC Comics by storm as he is now set to write, produce and direct an adaptation of what he deems his "favorite of the properties," The Flash.

Goyer recently wrote and directed the third film in the Blade trilogy, Blade: Trinity, after writing the first two in the series and now Variety reports his sights are set on a new character, The Flash.

First appearing in DC Comics late in 1939, The Flash's alter ego of chemistry student Jason Peter "Jay" Garrick, is an aspiring athlete whose exposure to heavy water fumes gives him the ability to move at incredible speeds.

Goyer told the trade mag, "I think the character of the Flash, who moves faster than the speed of light, opens itself up to rich cinematic and story ideas."
