Frank Miller Directing 'The Spirit'
Comicbook artist is liking the movie biz
It took some convincing from Robert Rodriguez to get Frank Miller into the director's chair for Sin City, but it seems Miller has taken to the idea as Variety announced today that he is set to adapt and direct The Spirit.
Based on Will Eisner's classic comic strip the story is of a masked detective who is believed to be dead. Using a mausoleum as his home base, Eisner's character fights crime in the dark shadows of Central City, using cunning and ingenious forms of punishment.
The announcement is set to come this Saturday at Comic-Con.
Miller is currently reteaming with Rodriguez for Sin City 2 while another graphic novel of his, 300, is in production at Warner Bros. for a 2006 release.
