Splendidly acted. Im not sure that there are two better actors out there than Bale or Crowe. Let me say this however about Ben Foster: He was good and i believe he was well cast. He was also pretty funny. But it wasn't a stretch for him. It's basically the same character he has played in most of his films. That being said, this movie was incredible. Tip of the hat to Mr. Mangold.

Disappointing movie. I agree with the review on this site--too many WHY's. I don't know exactly when it happened, but when the lawmen started to come across as dumber than dirt then the suspension of disbelief fell like a rock. Is this the same old west that brought men in dead or alive? The same one that displayed them on the street in coffins for all to see how dead they were? Why didn't Wade's escorts just shoot him? No one would ask why! Why risk their own lives? Why keep risking others' lives for a murderer? Why not intercept the gang BEFORE they got to the town? Why not warn the townspeople? Why are these lawmen so stupid? They spent a lot of time building up the rancher's motivation but Wade's was woefully dim. In the end, the thin plot and constant shooting killed the whole damned movie.
