C : You could like it.

Shoot Em' Up is the most talked about actioner of the century. Ha. Yanno, I think I laughed when I said that. No, I'm only joking when I say that the film is the most talked about, much less the best action movie to come. Centered around Comic-Con, I was one of the many people to see the footage. It was raunchy, sexy, and had a lot of blood. Perfect is the exact word you would use to describe the footage shown. Unfortunately, this isn't how the film wanted to treat me or my other friend tagging along to see.

Relative newcomer (I stole the line. Sue me) Michael Davis makes his feature debut... with this. Not that this film isn't something to debut with, but definitely not something you want to show. The film is loaded with off the wall sequences, sex, and then a spitting bald guy named Paul Giamatti. He's one of the best aspects of the film as he's so over the top I thought I was watching Elmer Fudd with a lil' Johnny Depp. He goes so over the load with the character that I didn't even know what to think. Few people were kind of aghast that Giamatti would even do such a role. I wasn't. I like to see a change in Giamatti and this was it. Onto the film though.

Davis commented that Chow-Yun-Fat inspired him to make the film. Apparently he had a scene where there was a baby and a gun. That definitely sounded like a plan for success when writing the script. Davis is an unusual director, the scenes are action and fun, but tiresome. They get claustrophobic as if you're on a roller coaster ride that won't end. Davis is the man who acts like a crab prick when operating the ride. You just get bored after seeing the same guy die four and half times. Then, when Davis knows the audience can't watch action, he adds a steamy sex scene that felt so out of place. By all means, I love Belucci topless and on top of Smith, but the sex scene felt so deliberately added. It was like the studio said "Bitch. Add a sex scene so people can like this film more".

Don't even get me started on the one-lining they had here. Every fifteen minutes there's a joke, and I like films that have humor, but it's so weak here. Giamatti says them, Owen winks, and then we're off to another adventure with Owen blowing some guys head off.

Overall, I didn't like the film all that well. So f**king sue me for disliking a film that has nerds cumming over their keyboards. Y'all heard my review, now scram!

I loved every second of it. It's nice to see a movie without a story really. Nothing but kickass funny as s**t action! I could think of no better way to spend the afternoon. Plus Clive Owen is the f**kin man and he was perfect for the role of Smith. Giamatti was great also but Monica Bellucci annoys the s**t out of me. IGNORE THE REVIEW THAT WAS GIVEN AND GO SEE THIS MOVIE unless you're a p***y because there's nothing worse than a p***y with a gun! How can you not find it completely awesome when Smith headbutted that scaple then stabbed it through his own hand to regain the advantage! And then manually shooting the assassian! I'VE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT!!! Just because his hands didn't work that didn't stop him for a second!!! I HAVE A NEW IDOL!!!
