I completely agree. I'm thinking this will be one of the best Marvel releases ever for film if not the best. The Ironman Movie (http://www.ironmantonystark.com)will rock!!

I agree with the B (having watched it with Brad). I have Batman Begins and X-Men: United both ranked a tad higher. It's better than Spidey 3 or Superman Returns by far though. Good, but not great.

B+ (might go higher with subsequent viewings)

Lots of fun. A solid set up like most of these origins tend to be. Perfect ending scene (I don't mean the post-credits bit). Downey Jr. is Genius.

This film is an A. It seems the general consensus is that the ending battle leaves a bit to be desired and I have to agree. That is the only noticeable flaw. Oh and this: (not a flaw just somewhat of an annoyance) What the hell is the deal with Marvel superheroes always losing their masks in their movies. (Daredevil, Spidey, Punisher not wearing his tshirt in the CLIMAX!?!?!?) All that being said, this film was awesome and Downey Jr. is just plain perfect. And Mrs. Coldplay Paltrow has never looked better.

A good review. I agree with some of the others that it is a B+ rather than a B.

Your right-on when you write that the end fight "smells way more like Ang Lee's Hulk." That is exactly what I thought of in the theater. We've seen the freeway/major-street bus-SUV-smashing two behemoths fight before. It would have been better if Stone gave Raza some Iron Mongers and Stark went out to defeat them.

What is impressive about this movie, however, is how it kept the pace speedy but not rushed. I was never bored, but never felt like it was rushed. Unfortunately, the effect was that the finale was not stupendous.

That said, I think this is far better than the Spider Man trilogy and deeper than Batman Begins, which I thought as good. But Iron Man was a more majestic film.

There was too little of Terrence Howard bonding w/ Stark. I thought the relationship was too superficial. And why can't Stark hack into the work servers from home? And why can't he get the shrapnel removed state-side?

I look forward to the sequels.

I suggest that EVERYONE stay at the end of the credits... Becuase... You know.

Just saw the movie, and I have to say... Definitely a B+ (possibly an A-). I never was a Stark/Iron Man fan, the Stark character seemed too flat and boring - even with the millions. However, Downey Jr was terrific, and actually converted me into liking the Stark character. Acting was good and the story was even better. The fight scenes were great, Yes the final one needed just a little more; but it was entertaining regardless. This one could lead me to revise my "Top Ten Superheroes" list.

Definitely stay past the credits, a very very nice surprise.

Well I normally don't follow in line but I would to agree that this was a B+/A- depending on my mood really to rewatch it. I'm sure once i get it on DVD/Blu-Ray I might adjust it because I really this this is one of the few superhero movies that I could rewatch quite a bit. The Spiderman movies really were just OK in my books and the 3rd was just terrible due to the horrific acting of Tobey Maguire. I don't know if I just never noticed it before or what but he just was terrible in this one. But ya as for Ironman, great movies with enough action and comedy to make it one of my few must own movies on Blu-Ray.
