At least it's better then Fantastic Four. Love the whole concept of coming of age, growing up, puberty aspect of the super-hero world which is a nice touch, but older super-hero fans will find it one major deja-vu. Younger fans however, will simply love this film. Here's the good side: -great cast of cult actors assembled; -nice campy enviroment for younger audiences; -cool and enjoyable 80's pop themes; -great adaptation of our modern schools competle with all types of social types at the school: the jocks, the nerds, the anti-social guy, the bullies and the popular crowd, but with super-powers, I mean how cool is that; -nice paralled with getting super powers as like hiting puberty and growing up; -it cost 30 million dollars to make and the FX look better then some of the ones seen on Fantastic Four; The downside: -one big deja-vu if you seen a lot of teen movies; -most of the jokes don't work for the majority of the viewers; -Kurt Russell over-acting; A good movie to introduce to a younger audience, but if you're an older movie viewer, it's all one big deja-vu, it's great and all, if you're over 18, you've outgrown most of the themes.

This movie looked like a blow out when my dad hired it, but it grew on me. OK, horrible comparisen, but, its the best I can come up with. The characters have, in my opinion, been well made. Warren Peace/'creepy goth looking dude with long black hair, a red streak, and the ability to cast balls of fire, on top of a bad temper' was by far my favorite character. The whole 'misunderstood guy who everyone hates just because he likes casting multiple fireballs at someone' just leaps right out at me (It also helps that hes cute, ps, im a girl). The effects are well done, and the plot is passable, better than some movies I've seen, yet simple enough to be understood by smaller children. The movie has some golden moments, like when the school caffateria is half destroyed by to brawling teenagers, and a hell of a lot of fire, and when the coach decides to drop a car on the main character, Will Stronghold, and then hurls him against the concrete walls of the gym hall. This is one of the better movies I have seen this year, and I reccomend it to anyone who is sick of having to watch animated movies with shallow characters to get a bit of good vs evil entertainment.
