I think ropeofsilicon's rating for The Dvil's Reject is a little too harsh. First of all, you have to like this sort of theme to be involved in the movie. This isnt no regular ""scary movie"". I thought this movie was one of the best I have seen this year. It had humor and suspence and horror. From watching House of a Thousand Corpses, you get to know the characters ( Otis, Baby, Captain Spaulding) and get a bond with them. I dont think it matters if you know why they kill and their intentions. Its more of a threat knowing they could pick anyone as their next victums, even you! I went to see this movie expecting to be mortified and shocked, and it did exactly just that, from the dead bodies to the music played while Otis and Baby violently slayed their victims. I cheered for them throughout the whole movie, and enjoyed watching them massacre innocent victims. I'm a preschool teacher in massachusetts and a huge horror movie fan. I dont think this movie is made just for serial killers and necrophiliacs. I wouldnt go out and kill anyone or use the scenarios from the movie against anyone but Rob Zombie is a genuis and I think he will be bringing us more extravagant horror movies to come.
