Another chapter to the 7-part saga of Harry Potter begins with the fan favourite Goblet of Fire. After the movie ended, I left the room with mixed reactions. Kudos for the acting(for the most part), to the adaptation(it sticks to the main story and ignores a lot of secundary stuff, but some things aren't quite right) and the special effects(ILM great as always). The downsides are the following: -Emma Watson delivers easily the worst performance in the film, as her first romantic role is a cringe-worthy mess; -The movie kinda lacked a bit of conflict, it's like Harry doesn't do or say antyhing that makes the story go nor his actions motivate events, it's the other way around really in this movie; -Voldemort was also kinda of a dissapointment, while his appearance is great, his voice takes us back to last summer when everybody was laughing their butts out over Dr. Doom's voice in Fantastic Four, also the conflict with Harry and Voldemort doesn't seem quite as epic as it should have been; -It lacks John William's musical identity, but it was nice to hear an alternative version of Lumos; While fans will enjoy this movie no doubt, general fantasy fans will start to get sick of same old Hogwarts and the to be continued concept.

Harry potter and the goblet of fire was over-rated the theme's don't change that much throughout the series, I expected a better film then what I saw, in 1 book Harry shouldn't be the hero,

Having read the book and seen the past movies I knew I wouldn't be let down by Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Unfortunately the complexity is too much for a feature lengh film, and so many bits had to be cut, there were bits that people who have and hadn't read the book would have liked to see. Its quick and to the point, the usual train journey and sorting hat isn't there but of course they were in the previous films, so it compensates. Unfortunately I was appauled by the acting, like I have been the past few films. I realise that Daniel Radcliffe isn't the most experienced actor however the over exaggeration does some what spoil the movie. For anyone who has read the book don't expect everything you've read and for those who haven't read the book, what are you waiting for? Overall its a great film to watch with the whole family, the action and adventure is brilliant and I'm sure the future films will be just as big a hit as this one was. > Chris
