D+!? dang, didn't expect it to be this bad. I see what you mean, but you mention enough positives for it to push C+ ( being very defensive here, actually silly considering I haven't seen the flick).

In any case I am not surprised Abe Sapien got a larger role; he was one of the coolest characters from the 1st one, and I had read on more than one occasion that there was demand to give him more screen time in the sequel. But I agree that giving him a love story doesn't seem like a good idea.

I am awaiting to see this film, & hopefully for me it will be like, if not better, than the first. I.e. B+

I give it a B-. The first one rocked with a B+ for me, and this one was a little less action-packed; however, it was still fun (despite the added Abe love story). I only drop it a notch because there were more lulls of interest in the characters.

I have to say beer and aquatic animals don't mix, so... nevermind; I don't want to ruin anyone else's fun.

If you enjoyed the first one, you'll definitely enjoy this one!!!

I just saw it today, and I understand where Brad is coming from. The movie felt like it was 2-hours long; that's not good.

The love stories were a bit obnoxious as presented, and they distracted from the main plot-line. The Krauss character also crowded things too much.

I thought that the Abe/Nuala storyline was too much like the Blade/Nyssa one from Blade II. After all, Nuala could have at least impeded Nuada at numerous points, but did nothing. That said, I thought Anna Walton did a good job with an under-written character.

As usual, the art design was excellent.

So I would give it a B rather than a D+, but given that it is GdT, it is a let down.
