Brad, I am surprised but happy to see that the review for this movie is already up. I am planning a big night for when it comes out (me and my girlfriend will see the midnight show than have stay at a comfy hotel with Batman plates for our food) anyways I am glad that i read such a great review from you because i trust your point of views on movies and feel that me and you have close taste. I must tell you i am excited to see Aaron Eckhart in this alot as his role of Dent (both ways) as well as everyone elses but i wanted to ask you this question did at all when watching and reviewing this movie did you think of Heath no longer being with us? I ask this because my sister asked the exact same question to me that will us all view it differently and give it more respect because he is sadly gone. other than that i just wanted to say good job on a well written review i hope the not seeing any previews helped and personally Batman Begins is the Godfather of all comic book movies to me and number 2 on my all time top five movies but thats just me

Well, I finally got a chance to see the movie, and I was blown away. It was better than I expected, and I was expecting a lot. Heath was the emobodiement of everything I've always felt the Joker should be. He wasn't a clown who played at being a gangster (Cesar Romero), and he wasn't a gangster dressed as a clown (Jack Nicholson). He simply was.

I'm also glad to see them keep with the theme of Batman being the Dark Knight. I was getting sick of goody-two-shoes Batman. The last movie started it, and this one, as so masterfully pointed out in Gary Oldman's final monologue, reminds us that Batman is there to do the things that the rest of us can't. In ways that we won't.

Blech, I'm gushing. It must have been good.

Ditto about the Joker statements. Though I do enjoy a dose of Adam West Batman every now and then (haha...) I can't help but think "Dude, the Joker isn't some clever trickster who'll steal your kid sister's lunch money. He's the type of guy that will tie you to a chair and make you watch as he kills your kid sister. Honestly!"

Heath's portrayal was devastatingly creepy and infinitely awesome. He nailed Joker right on his head. "Some people just want to watch the world burn" says Alfred. But is Heath's Joker even going to stick around to watch the fireworks? Nahh, he's too cool, too sinister for that. He's already formulating his next deed of destruction before the match has even reached the ground. Anyways, bottomline, Joker Owned.

Jim Gordon's closing speech was very moving and true. Gotham's Dark Knight, the hero in the shadows. He's there because he can take it. He is incorruptible, something both Begins and Dark Knight subtly touch on.

Anyways, friggin' awesome. Can't wait 'till my third viewing (which will be soon hopefully!)

I was expecting a lot from this film. From Nolan and from Ledger and both did not dissapoint. Heath Ledger was just as good as everybody said. For once, the hype was true. I saw it midnight yesterday and when The Joker crashes the mob meeting and shows his magic trick, the crowd burst into laughter and applause. Which is highly unusual in Norway. So good was Ledger, so charismatic that an act of extreme violence got this reaction. What makes this film so great is the fact that Nolan and the actors respect the material. How else can you get so many great actors in one film.

A fantastic film and I usually don't do repeats at the cinemas but I am guessing that next week I'll be back watching The Dark Knight again.

Keith Ledger did justice to the joker but for the scriptwriters, no more tricks?

Absolutely Frellin' Fantastic!!!!!!

I had very high expectations and they were met, and then some. Heath's performance was definitely "right on!" and the rest of the cast was just as amazing [with the exception of Maggie Gyllenhaal, I still had trouble not picturing Katie Holmes - even though I'm not a huge fan of hers either]. Regardless, this movie SERIOUSLY ROCKED!
