Gotta love that 2-D animated feeling...

Disney has just sent over five new images from their upcoming 2-D animated holiday film The Princess and the Frog and with them we get to meet a few of the new characters we will meet when the film hits theaters on November 25.
I have featured teasers of each image below, but you can click here to check out the full sized versions in our gallery. The first one though is a little tough to see without the teaser since the little firefly named Ray is hardly visible when you shrink the picture down to a manageable size.
Enjoy!

I've been waiting for Disney to go back to the old-time animation styles! They are ingrained in the memories of my childhood. Don't get me wrong–I love all the cool new 3-D stuff and the computer animation of the glorious PIXAR. But the old stuff makes me feel really warm and cuddly inside, know what I mean?
so basically the only time a disney film has black main characters is when they make a movie in a format no one wants to see anymore. All these amazing films are in 3D and then now you get to see the story of Tiana the first leading black female in a disney animation film and its in (amazing) 2D.
@Sully:
Who said they wouldn't watch a new Disney feature in 2D? The fact that they went back to 2D to introduce this new Disney Princess puts her in the same film level as The Little Mermaid, Sleeping Beauty etc…I find it very fitting that this movie goes back to the style that the other Disney Princesses became famous in. Look past the race card in this one, very immature comment on your part whether it was sarcastic or not.
@Sully: Oh shut up.. its not about race.
-_-
Its a movie.. every time there's a black person in something, most of them [not all] black people complain. [Obviously, NOT all of them, FYI]
Just stop complaining. Don't like it? Don't see it. >:l
Word of advice, betches.
BTW, 2D animation WILL continue on forever!
@Kristy:
Why @Roger, I agree with you lol
I actually much prefer the classic 2D animation to the 3D stuff and all the CGI. I like Pixar, sure, but only Disney does it right. Yay for 2D animation! Although, I really think that Disney shouldn't put so much emphasis on the movie just cause it has the first black princess, but should focus on the fact that it's a throwback to the good old Disney days. And the alligator looks like the one from Peter Pan :).
Sully, you are completely wrong that 2D is a style which "no one wants to see anymore". Millions of people prefer 2D; in fact many people consider 3D nothing more than an unattractive gimmick. Disney is apparently aware of this nostalgia and are bringing back 2D on a trial basis – the future of 2D animation hinges upon the success of "The Princess and the Frog". Disney has spent literally billions re-establishing their hand-drawn department, and if this film does well then in future we will be seeing more of the classic animation so many of us love. Bear in mind that Disney are a business – do you really think they would spend this amount of money creating a film which they imagined nobody would pay to see?
@Roger: Mistake. XD
And I read Sully's comment wrong. *embarassed*
:3
This is why I shouldn't freak out over nothing anymore. -_-
I for one being on the older end of the fan scale in terms of years on the planet, enjoy whole heartedly the return to classic Disney animation. I can only imagine that Walt, Frank, Ollie, Ward, Marc, Ub and all the others are sitting in the big screening room in the sky cheering……as to the race thing who cares really we all breathe the same air, all have the same blood (almost) and all have similar hopes and wishes.
i think it's a shame race is even mentioned so often. 2D was and will always be amazing. I'm so glad Disney realized this and they're willing to give it a shot at the good old days… we really miss it. It'll be so touching when my little one can feel the same emotions I felt when I watched a Disney movie :)
