Five More Pics from 'Nine' and Another Poster
It just looks so good!

I am finally seeing Nine on December 8, the same week I am seeing Clint Eastwood's Invictus as well as Avatar. It very easily could be the greatest week of movie watching I have experienced in a long while and my fingers are crossed it turns out just that way.
I have been pimping Rob Marshall's Nine for what feels like forever and today I have five more stills to share with you as well as hi-res versions of those posters that were revealed on Monday. The one voice I keep on hearing every time I get a new batch of images for this film is Kris Tapley at InContention.com and how he keeps on saying Dion Beebe has just got to be the front-runner for Best Cinematography and it's hard to argue looking at the pictures.
Take a look at the images for yourself by clicking here and let me know if you have any further thoughts on Best Cinematography this year.
Finally, here is the latest new poster from the film as debuted by In Contention late Tuesday.

Nine has an amazing look, from the trailers, but for really remarkably distinctive cinematography this year, I'm looking to an admittedly strange place: Bruno Delbonnel's work on Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Some amazing work there – the film looks like it was shot on… parchment or something like that.
I also think that Deakins should get a look-in for A Serious Man, and Richardson for Inglorious Basterds. Those two guys are the best in the business, for my money.
Anyway, after initially being apathetic towards it, I'm looking forward to Nine. But the posters are really doing nothing for me.
@Carson Dyle: The Deakins call for A Serious Man is a good one, there are some shots in that one that are just striking and considering they are merely shots of a neighborhood it really is saying something.
I would also add Dante Spinotti to the conversation for Public Enemies, like it or not, it was beautiful. I also wouldn't be surprised to see Javier Aguirresarobe for The Road get considered. I didn't particularly enjoy the film, but one thing it certainly nailed was the visuals.
Oh, and I'll take your Harry Potter bet and one up you with Terminator Salvation. I gave it a D, but watching it again on Blu-ray it has a certain visual appeal. An Oscar nomination could be the payback Shane Hurlbut receives after suffering the wrath of Christian Bale's on-set tirade.
@Brad Brevet: I think Delbonnel's got more of a chance, being a prior nominee, but I agree that Hurlbut was probably the only one bringing his A-game to Terminator Salvation. The film really did look quite good, which was one of the few things I could praise when I saw it.
He probably deserves an Oscar for bringing out what was probably one of the most entertaining rants since the time of Paddy Chayefsky, though.
I would have championed Dan Mindel as well, for an impressive looking film in Star Trek, but the guy just leaves too many close-ups out of focus. Same thing happened in M:I:III a few times.
I think Beebe has this in the bag personally.
I would however love it if the Academy would recognize Lance Acord. "Where the Wild Things Are" was gorgeous and being able to give such a beautiful look using only natural light on a lot of shots was amazing.
He should have been nominated for his work with Sophia Coppola (Lost in Translation, Marie Antoinette), so maybe this year he'll get the recognition he deserves.
On Delbonnel, his work on HP and that it looked like it was shot on "parchment"
I hate being a downer all the time but, as great as it looked, the color-correct the SHIT out of those movies in post so, I don't think all the credit can be handed to Delbonnel (which is a shame cause he is a great DP)
On Deakins, how can you not love his work?! I think what he did on A Serious Man is his best work! I also thought Richardson's work on IB was probably his best as well.
I'm sure Beebe's work on Nine is going to be amazing and I also REALLY liked what Lance Acord shot on WTWTA
