First Looks at Denzel in 'The Taking of Pelham 123'
Remake is underway
I can't help but think the remake of The Taking of Pelham 123 is going to essentially be entirely lackluster. The primary reason the original was even remotely entertaining was because of Robert Shaw. Unless they have drastically changed up the script from the original Denzel's role is going to be minimal and John Travolta as the subway jacking baddie is going to be nothing more than a parody.
On top of that director Tony Scott really hasn't wowed me since 2001's Spy Game.
Anyway, Just Jared has scored some set pics from the shoot including the one you see to the right of Denzel in action, actually it looks to be a scene that already deviates from the original since I don't believe there were any gun fights on the street in the original, it all happened down below.

I'm sort of sick of Denzel playing the cop role.
Yeah, I don't disagree with you there, but my biggest problem with this role is that if it is anything like the original there just isn't going to be much for him to do.
