First Trailer for 'X-Men: First Class' Arrives
The wait is over

I was a bit surprised Fox didn't decide to use the Super Bowl to debut the first trailer for X-Men: First Class, but I guess that would have meant risking getting lost among the trailers for Captain America and Thor. Instead, they held off for just a little while longer and today bring you the first look at the next chapter in the X-Men saga.
The new film is a prequel to the trilogy you've already seen as Matthew Vaughn (Kick-Ass) takes the story back to the beginning, before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, and follows the two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto's Brotherhood and Professor X's X-Men.
Here's the trailer.
The film stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Caleb Landry Jones, Lucas Till, Kevin Bacon, Jennifer Lawrence, Edi Gathegi, Jason Flemyng, Oliver Platt, Rose Byrne, Morgan Lily, January Jones, Zoe Kravitz, Bill Milner, Charlie Rowe and Ray Wise. X-Men: First Class is set to hit theaters on June 3.

Think it looks awesome!
It looks like…another X-men movie. I do like Fassbender a lot though.
Looks good!
Looks really good. Even better than X2.
Can't wait. Hope it makes up for the last two crappy installments in the franchise.
This looks like it will bring us a fun and enjoyable action and origin story unlike Wolverine which took itself WAY too seriously in my opinion. Plus it helps that the cast is stupendous.
Looks sweet
Ahh. In Vaughn we trust. This easily looks like this summer's best Superhero movie.
Betting that sub has Soviets aboard, and it will be crushed. The Cuban Missile Crisis is a good way to get that part of Magneto's history in the films…if that happens.
I am one of the few people who is willing to admit that they enjoyed Wolverine, but I still can't deny that it wasn't as great a movie as it should have been.
That said, based on this trailer, First Class looks like it could be leaps and bounds above Wolverine. I guess I shouldn't be surprised considering I have never been disappointed with any movie Matthew Vaughn has directed. And the talent in front of the camera is solid too, especially Fassbender.
Looks interesting. I have not seen any of the x-men, so what do i know.
I liked it. It has a very interesting premise. I like how you see them all sitting around the couch, watching the t.v. in concern. It's a throw back to the first X-Men movie, when Cyclops, Jean Gray, et all are also sitting on the couch watching the t.v. in concern. The cast looks solid. Only one problem…I thought Cyclops's brother was younger than him? Am I wrong, or did I catch a glimpse of him in this? That doesn't make sense, time wise. Other than that, yay!
I'm curious about one thing…
I know it's a prequel, not a reboot. But does Fox intent to start a new series here? Maybe a new trilogy, pulling a George Lucas?
Obviously it will depend on the boxoffice, but I wonder if they'll leave the storyline open for more development or if this movie will end with Magneto evil already and Charles on a wheelchair or something.
this looks really good
Looks awesome. I knew Vaughn wouldnt let me down. He totally knows what hes dong and how to make a great enjoyable film. Itrust he will make a film that runs closer to 2 hrs unlike the butchered overblown last two x-men films.
Let's forget plot holes with the comics like Xavier not being bald or Cyclops not being in the movie, but instead, lets focus on the plot holes between this and the other films.
Mainly, why does Beast have fur here? In X2, he didn't have fur. If he was furless in X2, how can he be here with fur? That makes absolutely no sense to me.
Who. Gives. A. F#ck!?
Most promising trailer of the year so far
Despite all the negative rumors surrounding the movie, I am happy to say that I am pleasantly surprised by the trailer. It COULD end up being the best comic book movie of the summer but we'll have to wait and see
I was left a little…………unaffected by the whole trailer really.
I'll end up seeing it in cinemas anyway but I'd be lying if I said it knocked my socks off.
Layer Cake was simply stupendous and Kick-Ass, in my humble opinion, was one of the most satisfying comic-book films and filmgoing experiences period. Suffice it to say that the X-Men series seems to have landed in very capable hands.
The top-notch directing, the great actors and actresses and now this thrilling trailer have started the goose-bumps going on a film that I otherwise had my doubts about.
Thems the facts
Not usually an x-man fan, but that trailer was rather good.
i agree with everyone movie looks awesome better than all 3 xmen movies combined coming from a true fan
also i wanna see a movie this weekend anybody got any suggestions besides that stupid justin bieber movie
Well… Matthew Vaughn directing is good, though I don't know if his style is the type that can overcome a really crappy story (so far he's only worked with great screenplays).
And Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy as Magneto & Charles is some truly excellent casting.
But there was nothing arresting about the trailer, neither narratively nor visually. I'm worried.
I love it! Fassbender looks great as Magneto
