One film sure to make a splash at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival, whether it is liked or not, is Jake Scott's Welcome to the Rileys starring James Gandolfini, Kristen Stewart and Melissa Leo and I have your first five looks at the film. Yes, it's because it stars the Twilight star Kristen Stewart, but it's the role she is playing that is going to attract watchful eyes.
Stewart plays a lap dancer and prostitute in the film, which follows a damaged man (Gandolfini) who seeks salvation while on a business trip to New Orleans. Salvation is apparently sought by caring for Stewart's character, Mallory, a troubled young woman. Gandolfini's character and his wife (Leo) were driven apart by grief after losing their daughter.
The first stills from the film have just come in and while they don't show any skin, that is exactly what speculation says viewers are going to get according to an article at UK's Digital Spy.
"It's an independent movie that nobody would normally see," Stewart said. "Now it's like, 'Oh, let's go see Bella in this stripper movie – it'll be crazy!' Working with James Gandolfini and Melissa Leo, who is just incredible, was the most fruitful life-changing experience on a movie that I've ever had."
It makes sense Stewart would be nervous about taking on the role considering her superstar position right now thanks to the Twilight franchise and the recent success of The Twilight Saga: New Moon. Commenting on the role and the film she said, "It was just the hardest subject matter I've ever had to deal with – I play a very broken young girl who is a runaway. She's a street kid. She's working in a strip club and James Gandolfini's character is just as dead inside as she is – and they wake each other up."
The film doesn't have a distributor as of yet, but is in the Dramatic Competition at Sundance.

maybe this will fit in with her "real" acting in Adventureland, aka the same thing she does in Twilight, only she runs her hands through her hair even more.
this movie was done years ago by a good filmmaker named Atom Egoyan…it's called EXOTICA, and it stars Bruce Greenwood…
wow shes stunning
she's come a long way since PANIC ROOM, that's for sure…
I love Kristen, the script is great. Twilight sucks.
Kristen Stewart is a great actress; she has done some pretty great films.. she is a natural!! I can't wait to see this movie the cast also looks great!!
Go Kristen you know you are good…keep it up and keep being who you are.. Love Kstew I hope she wins!!!!
Well, I want the movie to win..once again Great CAST!!
Kristen is a wonderful actress this ..movie will be great for her to show her acting chops..she's also very beautiful…love Kstew.
I loved Kristen Stewart when she was the indie film girl.
She brought me to tears with her role in "Speak." She may get a lot of attention and money from Twilight, but it's made her into teenage wank material and a criticism magnet for those who have never seen her true acting range.
Stunning photo. This looks very intriguing. Can't wait to see Stewart take on a demanding lead role like this.
She actually looks hot in those photos…
Regardless, this movie sounds interesting. Hopefully it's good.
She looks really hot in these photos, I can't wait to see this and see her take some clothes off. She's got a great body
you think exotica is the first movie to have some dude find redemption through saving a stripper? lol
Well, well, well, the little girl from Panic Room has grown up nicely. She's gorgeous here, I'm really looking forward to see this.
Eff me, Bella can be super hot once you get her out of those northwestern parkas….
I've been in love with her since Into the Wild. I pretend she's not in the Twilight franchise, so I can continue to love her. I'll be first in line for this movie.
If James Gandofilni is standing where I think he's standing, and Kristen STewart is kneeling where I think she's kneeling, then he's a very lucky man.
She's so young but very sultry already. Natalie Portman is a goddess, but she didn't come off like a real stripper to me in that movie with Jude Law and Julia Roberts. Stewart in just these stills, has that edge to her that makes you believe she could be a working girl. Sexy and gritty looking, I find her mesmerizing.
Why, rope, so kind of you, to send me off to bed with Bella gone bad for a nice midnight tummy pancake.
What a knockout
I will definitely check out this movie, she's really grown into a gorgeous woman, very sexy. And I'm interested in seeing how she handles her own against Gandolfini.
If these comments are any indication, they better laminate the theaters before showing any nude scenes.
i can't wait to see another side of the Stew. so far this role will definitely be the most challenging for her. with her age, she's too smart for choosing roles that are different and serious, most of her films were indie. truly she's not up for fame. of course, twilight saga is a different story.
I thought "Exotica" also, Walker.
This is gunna be hotter than a tin roof infested with felines
you know….if a young girl-woman can portray seriously stuff like this, you have to admire her. Kristen Stewart its really a great actress because from total fiction she can display a real situtation with completely professionalism
Thumbs up to Kristen and that she keeps getting even better in her performance.
I'm obsessed with the Stew, so I've read the script for this–it's nothing like Exotica. Saving damned women was hardly invented by Exotica–Mary Magadelene anyone?
Tasty, tasty.
I think she's so sexy, there's a an edge to her you don't see in other girls her age that is very alluring
Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson are good actors, possibly even great (I want to see her in "Into the Wild" before I can say, but Pattinson has already proved himself in "The Goblet of Fire").
However, they have nothing to work with in Twilight. They have the most unrealistic characters ever created, feeling emotions no human being ever feels. They are pulling from a well of nothing to create a scenario that could and should never exist. Not even the best actor could pull off the main roles in Twilight. Not even two teenage actors with the talent of Meryl Streep and Daniel Day-Lewis. Roger Ebert got it right: Edward and Bella are shells of characters that the audience is supposed to transport themselves into so they can live vicariously through these characters. Which is why men hate Twilight so much: because the idea of being chained to one woman FOREVER (literally!) about makes them sick. Whereas social conditioning has made women view that as the ideal in a romantic relationship; as such, they love Twilight. Only a man who is not attracted to women (and thus not able to put himself into the shell that is Edward's character) could truly and seriously love Twilight. Otherwise, he could be entertained by it, but not in a serious way. Or he could be like me, and consider it one of the greatest farces ever created by accident.
Exotica people!!! Go rent that one, its very good. This movie is ripping off Exotica. To all you Twilight bashers: Why can't you just keep your opinions to yourself? I agree they are not the best movies, but they are aimed at a young audience. Young actors have to start somewhere after all. Let the 12yr olds have their movies. I don't want my 12yr old watching True Blood, LOL!
I just watched Speak on Cable. I thought it was a great movie! Kristen was the whole movie the range of emotions that she showed was wonderful. I cried in the end I have not seen the least twitlight but am going to I try to see all of her movies. Great things are ahead for her!!
