First Look at Twilight's 'New Moon' Wolfpack
Meet the bare-chested newcomers

Summit Entertainment has just sent over the first image of the four actors playing the wolf pack in The Twilight Saga: New Moon as well as details on each actor. The picture above can be seen on a larger scale right here.
Perhaps the most interesting/cool thing about the casting is the fact director Chris Weitz insisted on casting from within the Native American community, so much so that the number one requirement for the actors was that they be of Native American or First Nation ancestry. Their characters belong to the Quileute tribe, based in La Push, Wash., both in the book and in real life.
Weitz told USA Today, "They had to have papers that proved their heritage, and they had to be in good physical shape."
The monsters they will turn into are described as being the size of horses and race around on all fours and their temperature runs a steady 108 degrees.
The actors — Chaske Spencer, Alex Meraz, Kiowa Gordon and Bronson Pelletier — join Taylor Lautner who reprises his role as Jacob Black who is seen in the sequel growing closer to a distraught Bella (Kristen Stewart) after her vampire beau, Edward, runs off.

These guys look amazing!!! I am so excited that the first "official" pic is out! I can't wait to see the next one with Taylor! Then the first official pic of the Volturri Vampires,I can't wait for that! This movie is going to be great!
Kudos to Chris Weitz for having these young Native American men prove they're heritage! Having anything less then the real deal is wrong!

My anti-Twilight friends will have a lot to say about the racialized connotations in the movie, but at least they're hot.

What are your anti-Twilight friends up in arms about? Isn't it GOOD that they're casting Native Americans in these roles? And I'm not sure how they think making Native Americans werewolves is a negative thing–after all, the werewolves are friends with Bella, and all the Twilight fans swoon over them.
Hmm. It must be because I'm a boy, but they're not that attractive. I suppose if I try to think like a girl I can recognize they have attractive qualities. They're in good shape, though–I wouldn't mind having those muscles. I was about to nitpick and say it looks like they shaved their chests, but then I remembered that Native Americans tend to have less body hair than people of European descent.

i can not wait to see this movie i have a 4yr old daughter who is absolutly in love with the twilight story line i also love it i have read all 4 books stephine myere is a brillient story writer and the movie that came out of the book is awsome i expect the next one will be just as great
