Unless I am mistaken and this picture has been out there before, above is the first look at Hugo Weaving who returns as Lord Elrond in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey with Richard Armitrage as Thorin Oakenshield, Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins and Ian McKellen as Gandalf in the background.

Weaving is one of many actors returning from the Lord of the Rings trilogy, others include McKellen, Cate Blanchett, Elijah Wood, Andy Serkis, Orlando Bloom and Christopher Lee. There is no word, however, on which piece of the trilogy any of them will show.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey hits theaters on December 14.
