Finally a Trailer for 'Solomon Kane'
Could be a good bit of B-movie action
A day or so ago I added the Russian-language version of the Solomon Kane trailer, but didn't promote it because I assumed the number of readers around this space that understand Russian are probably limited. However, today the English-language version has arrived and considering I had quite a bit of fun with the footage screened for this little actioner at Comic Con I felt it was one worth pubbing even though it doesn't have an official release date and I fear it will only end up on DVD and Blu-ray here in the States.
The film is an adaptation of the pulp novels of Robert E. Howard, author of "Conan the Barbarian," first serialized in the 1920s and '30s, Solomon Kane is planned as the first in a trilogy. The film is an epic tale of a 16th century soldier tormented by his past evil deeds, seeking redemption by battling a sinister power threatening the kingdom. The film stars James Purefoy, Max von Sydow, Pete Postlethwaite, Rachel Hurd-Wood, Alice Krige and Mackenzie Crook.
It is playing at the Toronto Film Festival and then will release in Russia in December. Who knows, maybe the Toronto screening will earn it a distributor.

Looks cool
It's the pretty girl. It's always the pretty girl, that leads the man to hell with promises of paradise. This could have been written in the middle ages, it just needed today's technology to bring it its blood spattered life.
two words, van helsing!!!
@ddurden33: that is exactly the movie i was thinking of the entire time i was watching it .
Folks keep saying that. Of course, when I saw trailers for Van Helsing, I was like, "Vampire Hunter D???" So, that "look" has been done before. But, whereas the trailers (and the full, final film) of Van Helsing were half-assed at best, this looks polished and fun! Can't wait.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Sorry. This looks awful.
