Empire has debuted a 30 image gallery featuring the likes of Christian Bale, Tom Cruise, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Mel Gibson, Gerard Butler, Keira Knightley, James McAvoy, Matt Damon, Clint Eastwood, Jack Nicholson, Laurence Fishburne and so on and so on, recreating some of their iconic film roles.

I have included a select few in this post, but to check all of them out click here. Too bad they didn't get Ewan McGregor in there to recreate his Trainspotting toilet scene.

Minority Report? I mean I enjoyed the movie but I don't think it was Iconic, why wouldn't they go with the obvious Top Gun for Cruise?

  2. Brad Brevet (Post Author)

@Bri-Man: I would have even thought Risky Business, which would have only required Cruise borrow Arnold's sunglasses for a second.

  3. Gaston

Patrick Bateman is the best of all!

  4. John

That's it! I was trying to think what the Bale one was.

  5. Eric

The Kevin Spacey one is by far my favorite.

  6. Vince

While I do like the Kevin Spacey one, and to me Keira Knightly is always a good thing…the clear winners are obviously Simon Pegg & Nick Frost.

  7. Great stuff. Love the Eastwood/Freeman duo. All they have to do is stand there and they look mean.

  8. Pattyler

No doubt Christian Bale slays all them. American Psycho is the winner! Wish he would look a little more like him though. Screw spartan, Patrick Bateman's body is beauty and Butler is too fat. Did you know I'm utterly insane?

  9. americanrequiem

Mel Gibson wins for me, he reenters movies next year, thank god

    @Pattyler:
so true, gerard butterface butler is prolly the only fat guy, who's also considered hot among the ladies, i dont get it ? btw my fave pic is sam neill, brings back sweet ole memories.

This issue of Empire is almost a year old and your just now commenting on it? Just this past month they had a new Icon in films addition with 10 different covers and several choices inside. The real reason why these were some of the pics is the editor for this issue was Steven Spielberg. He picked the features and put together this issue from cover to cover. It was great.

Although some of these are great, the winner for me has to be Ben Stiller..I'm not sure how iconic Zoolander is (probably not at all), but his photos actually work cause it's a photoshoot.

Did you just get this? It's been in Britain for months?

Looking at the Silence of the Lambs made me feel a bit sad. God what could have been
    with the sequel.

If it had had a decent book/screenplay of course

This was on Newstands in the states like one year ago. They sell Empire in the U.S. It's my favorite film mag. If I remember it's the issue Speilberg was brought in to make.

20th anniversary edition of empire magazine, which was about june of this year.
    Guest editor Steven Speilberg.

I see Jodie and Anthony Hopkins and I feel the chills… what a couple.. what a movie, that is real history. Arnold and Mel also, memorable roles. Tom Cruise was a mistake, even Mission Impossible was more iconic than forgotten Minority Report.

yeah to me its the 2nd eastwood and freeman pic and stiller doing magnum (its so beautiful). those are both epic. Though I have to say the one of Jack is great, even if it doesn't seem to reference any movie in particular. The ones of Cruise and Butler are worthless. There's at least 5 better movies they could have used to Cruise and Gerard just doesn't work.
