Red Room of Pain? Christian Grey Turns His Back in Black & White

This evening Universal released the following teaser poster for Fifty Shades of Grey, the adaptation of E.L. James' Twilight fan fiction centered on a couple of horny people that live in Seattle and have lots of kinky sex within in the leather confines of his Red Room of Pain. There are whips, handcuffs and other accouterment and you know it's gon' get hot. Just think what else may be in store, I learned all that from a simple Google search.

The film will hit theaters on February 13, 2015 and is directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson and stars Jamie Dornan as the young entrepreneur Christian Grey and Dakota Johnson as his eventual partner. Luke Grimes, Jennifer Ehle, Marcia Gay Harden and Max Martini co-star.

Check out the poster below.

Is that Brad in the Podcast Tower?

  • Driver

Why don't they use this poster to sell some perfume or something useful like that...

Can you file this under 'Housewife Porn'

  • Kieran

    Neat little poster. It's subtle.

I have no faith in this movie, though. Can't wait to see it bomb in 2015!

I would argue that this would do better at the box office if it was released this year. By 2015 are people even going to care about 50 Shades? The buzz seems to have died down already and that's a whole year for something new to come along and take its place.

I'm 99% sure this movie will be terrible and I hope that it is but IMO the poster is fairly impressive. Definitely casts a mysterious tone on the movie.

Not impressed, the overall feeling is not bad at all, but what I really get from the picture is a quite tiny and small built man. Anyone who has read the books know how totally wrong that is. I have no confedance in the casting.

I haven't read the books nor do I want or intend to. It could be that it actually is a terrible poster in context with the books?

  • Ryguy815

I like the poster but I have zero interest in this movie.

I like the poster, and even though I'm not that interested in this movie either I do think Focus Features wants to make this more than just some slinky women's-night-out kind of movie. Some of the names in the cast have done some fine work and the director does have a well-received film to her name (Nowhere Boy). So maybe, MAYBE, it might end up not being a train wreck. It seems there's already a backlash against it though.

poster copied from Dhoom 3 lol

  • Django

    Countless Shades of 'Meh'.

  • Winchester

This is why I'm not sure (crowded as it clearly is however) that 2015 will be the apocalypse................because this film is one I already know I will barely have the interest in renting, let alone paying to see in cinemas. And there's already a few more 2015'ers where that came from as it is.

  • The Dog-Biting Man

I remember Margaret Gyllenhaal and James Spader, the member of the Brat Pack were in a film involving a woman becoming as a sexual being. As for now, I expecting Gyllenhaal and Emilio Estevez, another member of the so-called Brat Pack, for a remake of Lawrence Kasdan's 'Wyatt Earp.' A remake featuring Channing Tatum as Wyatt Earp, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Doc Holliday, and Kevin Costner as Ike Clanton.
