Fiery New 'Transformers: Age of Extinction' Posters

A trio of new posters for Transformers: Age of Extinction have been revealed, the first announces the IMAX release of the upcoming fourth film in the franchise and the other two are from international territories, both of which feature Optimus Prime, though in one he's a little hot under the collar.

Transformers: Age of Extinction is the fourth film in director Michael Bay's global blockbuster franchise. The film begins after an epic battle that left a great city torn, but with the world saved. As humanity picks up the pieces, a shadowy group reveals itself in an attempt to control the direction of history... while an ancient, powerful new menace sets Earth in its crosshairs. With help from a new cast of humans, Optimus Prime (voiced by Peter Cullen) and the Autobots rise to meet their most fearsome challenge yet. In an incredible adventure, they are swept up in a war of good and evil, ultimately leading to a climactic battle across the world.

Transformers: Age of Extinction hits theaters on June 27.

Just for the record in case anyone doesn't know, the IMAX cameras Bay used are the new IMAX digital 3D cameras, NOT 70mm IMAX.

If the Earth is really going to shatter if I see this movie in IMAX, I just might not see it in that format

I kind of love how Mark Wahlberg is just peeking out in that IMAX poster. You'd think a well known, popular actor would be more of a selling point, but nope. The focus is more on "OHMYGOD LOOK IT'S A BIG ROBOT DINOSAUR!!! ISN'T IT BADASS!?!? SEE IT IN EARTH SHATTERING IMAX SO WE GET MORE MONEY!!!"

No, that's a good thing. One of the (several) problems with the Transformers movies has been the lack of faith in anthropomorphizing the characters, and instead having us ostensibly care more about Shia or his wacky parents or Turturro's wacky character.

If they could have made us care about the Transformers the way audiences cared about E.T. or Yoda or Buzz Lightyear even, the movies would have been better.

Hmm. Didn't want to see this before, but after seeing these posters...Nope. I still don't want to see this movie.

I saw "Edge of Tomorrow" in IMAX 3D and they showed the Transformers trailer beforehand. It almost did a disservice to "Tomorrow's" post-conversion because Transformers looked freaking amazing in the format. As much as I want to hate all over Bay I'd be super down watching this in 3D. CGI smut FTW!

I don't typically comment on 3D, but I thought the 3D in Dark of the Moon was one of the rare examples where it helped the film in some instances, making it a little more fun.

Michael Bay got tired of the explosions of his film, so now he's gonna use his new movie to SHATTER THE EARTH!!!
