Ferrell and Wahlberg Join Forces in 'The B Team'
Hey look, it's not a remake!
At first glance it would seem this Variety story about Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg starring in a comedy together is a lie since the words "remake" and "reboot" are never found, but luckily for those in search of originality in one form or another it is absolutely true. Word is Ferrell and Wahlberg will star opposite one another in The B Team to be directed by Ferrell regular Adam McKay (Talladega Nights and Step Brothers) from a script penned by Chris Henchy (Land of the Lost) and McKay for Columbia.
Unfortunately the details get murky beyond the principals with all that is known about the plot is Ferrell and Wahlberg will play cops. However, Sony believes registering the title The B Team will be problematic due to Fox's upcoming adaptation of The A Team with Joe Carnahan directing. Oddly enough I didn't even think of "The A Team" when reading this, which goes to show how enthused about that project I am.
Sony has not set a release date for The B Team, but it is expected to go into production as quickly as the filmmakers can get it ready.

So is this called 'Plan B' or 'The B Team'?
"Word is Ferrell and Wahlberg will star opposite one another in Plan B to be directed by Ferrell regular Adam McKay"
"However, Sony believes registering the title The B Team will be problematic due to Fox’s upcoming adaptation of The A Team with Joe Carnahan directing"
@CS: Sorry, that was a typo… I was thinking of the old Brad Pitt/Jennifer Aniston production house for some reason. :)
