TETRO is Francis Ford Coppola's first original screenplay since THE CONVERSATION. It is his most personal film yet, arising from memories and emotions from his early life, though totally fictional. It is the bittersweet story of two brothers, of family lost and found and the conflicts and secrets within a highly creative Argentine-Italian family.

Here is another film I have already seen as it will be featured at the Director's Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival and will follow that up in my backyard with a slot at the Seattle Int'l Film Festival. It's a beautifully photographed picture shown 75% in black-and-white with moments of brilliant color. The bright spot -- in my opinion -- is newcomer Alden Ehrenreich who plays the younger brother in this Argentine family drama. Ehrenreich immediately brings to mind echoes of Leonardo DiCaprio meets Emile Hirsch meets Michael Pitt. He is a name to watch.

Tetro was directed by Francis Ford Coppola and the MPAA has rated it R for language, some sexuality and nudity.

The cast includes Alden Ehrenreich, Maribel Verdú, Carmen Maura, Vincent Gallo and Klaus Maria Brandauer.
