The highly anticipated new installment of "The Terminator" film franchise is set in post-apocalyptic 2018. John Connor is the man fated to lead the human resistance against Skynet and its army of Terminators. But the future that Connor was raised to believe in is altered in part by the appearance of Marcus Wright, a stranger whose last memory is of being on death row. Connor must decide whether Marcus has been sent from the future, or rescued from the past. As Skynet prepares its final onslaught, Connor and Marcus both embark on an odyssey that takes them into the heart of Skynet's operations, where they uncover the terrible secret behind the possible annihilation of mankind.

In our poll asking readers what were their five most anticipated films of summer 2009 Terminator Salvation came out on top and I won't be surprised in the least if it ends up the highest grossing film of the summer. Even with films such as Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Terminator has a built in audience after three early films, stars last year's "dark knight" Christian Bale and is also rated PG-13, which opens the film to a larger audience than any Terminator film before it has enjoyed. On top of that, it looks like it could be pretty good.

Terminator Salvation was directed by McG and the MPAA has rated it PG-13 for intense sequences of sci-fi violence and action, and language.

The cast includes Christian Bale, Sam Worthington, Anton Yelchin, Moon Bloodgood, Common, Bryce Dallas Howard, Helena Bonham Carter and Terry Crews.
