From the Academy AwardŽ-nominated team of director Pete Docter (Monsters, Inc.) and co-director Bob Peterson comes Up, a comedic adventure taking off (and lifting spirits) in summer 2009. Carl Fredricksen spent his entire life dreaming of exploring the globe and experiencing life to its fullest. But at age 78, life seems to have passed him by, until a twist of fate, and a persistent 8-year old Wilderness Explorer named Russell, gives him a new lease on life. Up takes audiences on a thrilling journey where the unlikely pair encounter wild terrain, unexpected villains and jungle creatures. When seeking adventure next summer - look Up.

It's Pixar, which means there isn't a lot to say. The film will undoubtedly be heralded by critics as a masterpiece and based on the animated studio's history there is no reason to expect otherwise. It is only the second Pixar film to receive a PG-rating (The Incredibles), which I don't expect to hurt its ticket sales, but it will be interesting to see if Carl and Russell will take the summer animated crown or if Fox's Ice Age 3 will stomp it back to the prehistoric age.

Up was directed by Peter Docter and Bob Peterson and the MPAA has rated it PG for some peril and action.

The voice cast includes Ed Asner, Christopher Plummer, Delroy Lindo and John Ratzenberger.
