Releasing Wednesday, July 1st from 20th Century Fox

"Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs," to be fully produced in 3-D, is the latest installment to the hit "Ice Age" franchise, which has grossed more than $1.2 billion around the world. "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs" will be directed by Oscar-nominated Carlos Saldanha, who directed "Ice Age: The Meltdown" and co-directed "Ice Age." The film is being produced by Academy Award-winning Blue Sky Studios, the creative force behind all the "Ice Age" films and "Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who."


I thought the first Ice Age was great and the second one wasn't all that bad, but nowhere near the original. I hope this third one will bring something worthwhile to the forefront and perhaps Fox will be able to edge out Pixar for the highest grossing animated film of the summer even if their Oscar chances are already handicapped.


Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs was directed by Carlos Saldanha and the MPAA has rated it PG for some mild rude humor and peril.

The voice cast includes Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Denis Leary, Simon Pegg, Queen Latifah, Seann William Scott, Josh Peck, Joey King and Chris Wedge.
