Fanning Confirmed for 'New Moon' Role
Will the fanbase complain about this one?
Over the weekend People.com was able to confirm Dakota Fanning will indeed star in the Twilight sequel New Moon as Jane, a member of Italy's evil Volturi, a vampire coven residing in Volterra, Italy. They are regarded as "royalty" by other vampires because they have lived for well over three thousand years and act as police, enforcing the rule that vampires' existence remain a secret from humans. You can get more on the fictional group right here.
Fanning is quoted telling EW, "I am a very big fan of the books. I read them all and Jane is an interesting part."
Filming on the second film begins his month in Vancouver with Chris Weitz directing for a November 20 release. The third film in the franchise, Eclipse is already slated for a June 30, 2010 release, but no director is attached.
