EXORCIST Rating Controversy

On the heels of the news that Alien vs. Predator has received a PG-13 rating word comes from CaptainHowdy.com that the Exorcist prequel, Exorcist: The Beginning will be receiving an NC-17 rating 'due to the film being to graphic and violent'.

The site was contacted by a studio rep of Morgan Creek and along with Warner Bros. they plan to appeal the decision but with 34 days left until the release of the film it seems the filmmakers may have to just cut the scenes, which may bog down the theatrical release, but would, at the same time, give promise to one kick ass DVD release.

MPAA ratings usually come in every Tuesday so there should be news of the rating tomorrow if the NC-17 rating has any merit thus far.
