20th Century Fox just sent over two exclusive lobby cards featuring new looks at Robert De Niro and Jessica Alba in the upcoming grindhouse release Machete, starring Danny Trejo as the title character, a blade-wielding antihero who first appeared in the mock trailer that was part of 2007's Grindhouse double feature directed by Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino. The previously released not-safe-for-work trailer is to the right.
The feature centers on Machete (Trejo), a renegade former Mexican Federale, as he roams the streets of Texas after a shakedown from drug lord Torrez (Steven Seagal). Reluctantly, Machete takes an offer from spin doctor Benz (Jeff Fahey) to assassinate the corrupt Senator McLaughlin (Robert De Niro). Double crossed and on the run Machete braves the odds with the help of Luz (Michelle Rodriguez), a saucy taco slinger, Padre (Cheech Marin) his "holy" brother, and April (Lindsay Lohan) a socialite with a penchant for guns. All while being tracked by Sartana (Jessica Alba), a sexy ICE agent with a special interest in the blade slinger.
Just think, this may be one of the only times you'll get a chance to see Lindsay Lohan for the next 90 days!
You can check out the lobby cards directly below. Machete hits theaters on September 3 and is directed by Robert Rodriguez with Ethan Maniquis. You can also see Trejo in Fox's Predators hitting theaters this Friday, not to mention he was just added to the cast of A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas.

AWESOME!!!
It's funny when a writer tries so hard to make a movie bad that it ends up being enjoyable because of it. Here's a great example, can't wait to see it.
I really hope this is good. HOPE. The potential for disaster is, well, more likely than not.
I Love Jessica
More excited about this than inception. Just by a little.
wow, im surprised by the other responses to this film. so far this looks like something i may watch if im drunk and someone else pays the one dollar to rent it from redbox…but thats part of why all of us are on this site- we love the thrill and wonder of what a film could be. We may expect a epic and get a bomb, or expect a bomb and get a get film. I guess the jury is open until this film is shown but so far it looks like a gimicky waste of time.
Unbelieveable ! The movie GPA just slipped another .3% for 2010. This looks like a 70's B-movie at the local Drive In
This looks epic.
And yes, they did include a hitman with a Mexican luchador mask. FTW!!!!
Can't wait!
Can't wait for this one! Robert HAS to be one of the best "original" Directors in Hollywood.
This is the only film in which Steven Segal is not a hero out of all the films that he's ever been in…
