Emma Roberts Solves the Nancy Drew Mystery
Julia's niece ready for the big screen.
Back in May of this year word came out of Production Weekly that Andrew Fleming would be directing a feature film adaptation of the one-time popular Nancy Drew mystery chronicles. Today word came out of Variety that the news is indeed true as Warner Bros. is readying the Jerry Weintraub production of Nancy Drew: The Mystery of Hollywood Hills.
As for the identity of the young woman to play Nancy Drew, why that would go to Emma Roberts — Julia Roberts' niece and Eric Roberts' daughter.
The film follows Nancy Drew as she travels to L.A. with her father and stumbles upon evidence involving the long-unsolved death of a glamorous movie star. Nancy's practical nature and resourcefulness are put to the test when dealing with the self-indulgent world of Hollywood.
The article goes on to say that Warner Bros. has not set a start date for the feature as Fleming is currently working on a rewrite of the script. Reps for Roberts did say that shooting would not begin until early next year as the young actress turns 15 in February.
