I was just telling someone the other night how I think Justin Timberlake is a solid actor, but of course that is based on very little. I thought he was the best part of Alpha Dog and he did well in Black Snake Moan, outside of Craig Brewer's decision to leave in that entire final scene, but I can hardly blame that on him. So, it comes with very little surprise that Timberlake along with Adventureland's Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield (Boy A, Lions for Lambs) have joined the cast of David Fincher's Facebook feature The Social Network.

Mike Fleming at Variety confirms earlier reports saying Eisenberg will play founder Mark Zuckerberg, Timberlake will play Sean Parker, the Napster co-founder who became Facebook's founding president, and Garfield will play Eduardo Saverin, the Facebook co-founder who fell out with Zuckerberg as the social network became a financial juggernaut.

The film is based on the Ben Mezrich novel "The Accidental Billionaires," focusing on the evolution of Facebook from its 2004 creation on the Harvard campus by sophomore Mark Zuckerberg to a juggernaut with more than 200 million members.

Eisenberg will be seen in theaters on October 2 in the comedic-horror Zombieland. Timberlake was most recently NOT seen in the limited release The Open Road, and Garfield has a role Terry Gilliam's Christmas release The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.

The Social Network was written by Aaron Sorkin (Charlie Wilson's War) and will be released by Columbia Pictures in 2010. Production will begin next month in Boston and then move to Los Angeles.

For some reason, this just sounds like the most bizarre thing Fincher's ever done. Well, maybe because it's Fincher. Still, good to see directors departing from what is expected off them (of course, Fincher already did that with Benjamin Button… and Zodiac, for that matter)

hate facebook, will probably hate this more, and JT's acting is overrated for sure.

Honestly I couldn't be more excited for this movie, and this is a terrific starting cast. I can't wait.

Will the film be all about the birth of facebook?

Or will it also show the good and bad effects that facebook has on society?

Or will it be a combination?
