Edgerton Joins Bale in Scott's 'Exodus' and Jeff Nichols' 'Midnight Special'

Joel EdgertonJoel Edgerton will reportedly join Christian Bale in Exodus for 20th Century Fox. There are scant details on the Biblical epic outside of the fact Edgerton will play Ramses to Bale's Moses with filming taking place in Spain, Morocco and England.

In addition to this news, Edgerton has just received a new co-star in Midnight Special to be directed by Jeff Nicols (Mud, Take Shelter).

Written by Nichols, the film follows a father (Michael Shannon) and his eight-year-old boy who must go on the run when it becomes apparent that the child has superhero-like powers. Kirsten Dunst is the latest to join the project per Deadline. Warner Bros. will distribute.

Edgerton was recently seen in The Great Gatsby and will be seen in the troubled production of Jane Got a Gun.

I heard or read that Jeff Nichols' Midnight Special would be a tribute to John Carpenter's films so I am interested. Recently saw Take Shelter and Mud I really enjoyed both of them. I haven't seen Shotgun Stories but I plan too. I am also glad to see that he continues to use a great actor like Michael Shannon in his features.

Looks like it'll be a long time before we see a Prometheus sequel, if we ever do. Also, can't see Edgerton as an Egyptian pharaoh.

Along with Noah i'm kinda glad the Biblical epic is making a return, it makes a nice change from sci-fi and superheros.

But Moses is totally a superhero.

Like Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman, I can't picture anyone other than Yule Brynner as Ramses.
    So let it be written,
    So let it be done!
