Eastwood's 'Gran Torino' Gets a Second Plot Premise
This one is a little more palatable
Yesterday AICN posted a plot premise for the clandestine Clint Eastwood film Gran Torino presenting an unlikely rumor that it would be a sixth installment in the Dirty Harry franchise. However, today FilmJerk offers up a different, and easier to swallow, premise considering Eastwood is not exactly looking his Dirty Harriest.
Our source tells us this will be a simple, quiet and compelling drama about Walt (Eastwood), a rural bigot who finds his outlook on life changed after a family of Hmong immigrants move into the home next to his own, striking up a friendship with the family's teenaged son Tao over the older man's now-classic car.
It strangely sounds like a story Stephen King would have written when he sheds his horror roots. However, it definitel sounds far more likely than another Dirty Harry picture.
