East or West? Which Witch is This in New Poster for 'Oz the Great and Powerful'

Kunis or Weisz? Or are you just looking at her chest?

Here's your first look Rachel Weisz (or is it?) as Evanora, the Wicked Witch of the East in Sam Raimi's upcoming film Oz the Great and Powerful, which is set to hit theaters on March 8. Here's the synopsis followed by the poster:

Disney's fantastical adventure Oz The Great and Powerful, directed by Sam Raimi, imagines the origins of L. Frank Baum's beloved character, the Wizard of Oz. When Oscar Diggs (James Franco), a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he's hit the jackpot--fame and fortune are his for the taking--that is until he meets three witches, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams), who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone's been expecting. Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late. Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity--and even a bit of wizardry--Oscar transforms himself not only into the great and powerful Wizard of Oz but into a better man as well.

There has been some debate about the image and whether or not it's Weisz or Mila Kunis. Other commenters are focusing on the generous bit of cleavage we see in the image. As for me, based on my first sentence, I think it's Weisz, but I'm up for being convinced otherwise.

Whatever your your eyes decide to focus on... enjoy...

  1. Frank says:

I'm pretty sure it's Mila. Rachel's character is the witch that gets squashed by Dorothy's house in the beginning of 1939 Wizard of Oz. movie.

  2. Ooze33 says:

I think it's Mila Kunis too. I've heard a theory that she falls in love with the Wizard (as evidenced by them getting close in the new trailer), but he falls for Glinda, thus making her jealous and angry, becoming the Wicked Witch.

  3. hobieluv83 says:

Those look like Rachel's eyes when you cover up the rest of the face. If you cover the pointed chin and the nose it also looks like Rachel, but who knows.

  4. V says:

Wasn't the Wicked Witch of the West the only witch with the green skin? So by that logic, this should be Mila. Unless there is a twist in the movie.

  5. The Jackal says:

Who cares who it ends up being? That poster is fantastic! Glad to see such a wonderful visual campaign for this film. I'm definitely excited for March '13.

    Thems the facts
