Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit is a DreamWorks Home Entertainment release and is rated G.
Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit was one of the Best Reviewed Film of 2005 (wide release) according to Rotten Tomatoes and it has now come to DVD. It is definitely the front-runner for the Animation Oscar and considering I did not see it in the theater I had no idea what all the fuss was about. Things have certainly changed as the folks over at Aardman quickly proved to me they know what they are doing when it comes to creating lovable characters that are more fun than they really should be.

This film has a miniscule running time at only 85 minutes, but all 85 of them are worth it. While I didn't have any laugh out loud guffaws as some reviewers claim you will have, this film is cute and a lot of fun.

The film centers on the loveable British characters Wallace and his faithful dog Gromit as they run their humane pest-control outfit, "Anti-Pesto." Things are working out fabulously as their primary concern is ensuring the safety of the town's vegetables as they prepare for the annual Giant Vegetable Competition. Unfortunately, when an experiment goes wrong, a massive pest gets on the loose and havoc takes over the neighborhood providing Wallace and Gromit a foe they are not at all prepared for.

Only a few months ago I was raving about Tim Burton's Corpse Bride, but after seeing Wallace and Gromit my tune has changed as this is definitely the best animated film of 2005 and a must own on DVD.

Besides the movie there are a few special features, but none of them really stood out in my mind that they add any extra incentive to the overall value of the DVD. The best of the bunch were the featurettes dedicated to the making of the film. You wanna learn how to make one of the cute little bunnies from the film? Well, this is your place. Everything from the early stages to the final touches are looked at here.

Overall this DVD is definitely one that will be making frequent trips to my DVD player. Not only is it a good film, it is only 85 minutes long, which means it doesn't take a long time to sit back and enjoy it, which is exactly what you should do... over and over again.
