I had not seen a minute of "The Shield" before popping in episode one of the third season and by the time the disc was done I couldn't get the next one in fast enough as this fast paced cop drama weaves multiple plotlines with expert precision.
Season three finds Detective Mackey's (Chiklis) strike team at full tilt as they attempt to take down the baddies all while concealing the millions of dollars in stolen drug money. Meanwhile Dutch (Karnes) begins his search for "the cuddler" rapist, Capt. Aceveda (Martinez) experiences supreme embarrassment on his way to a city council position and the decoy squad is left out to dry before being entirely left out.
On top of 15 action packed episodes this third season of the hit television series also comes equipped with eight commentaries, deleted scenes and a mammoth making-of documentary that goes over the entire writing process of Episode #315, in other words the season finale.
This DVD set is a cop drama lover's dream as it not only presents the grittiest show I have ever seen, but presents it in such a way that you are left demanding more as the 90 minute documentary leaves you aching.
This is a show that sets out to bring a jolt to your senses and in doing so it locks you in for the duration. If you have yet to see a single minute of this show, you are in luck, season one is only a click away, otherwise continue your journey into the seedy world of the LA police department and buy this title now.
