For those unfamiliar souls, "Scrubs" is the hit NBC TV show that seems to be slowly fading into oblivion, but before it does we get to relive the glory days as season two comes to DVD. The show centers primarily on Zach Braff's character, J.D., as he and his group of misfit doctors make their way through Sacred Heart Hospital attending to equally misfit patients all while suffering through their hectic lives.
Season one began with our group as lowly medical residents, but this season they have become bonafide doctors and the thought of added responsibility hits them pretty hard, which is where we find our comedic element. While this season doesn't exactly measure up to the first, I soon realized it was only because the first season was so good. It was new, it was fresh. The second season is sort of a rehashing of the first. It has the same characters in the pretty much the same scenarios. At times it seems the writers forgot their characters were doctors now. It seems however that the writers hadn't found their groove just yet, but they do get better down the line. We'll check out the third season soon enough.
As for the special features on this one, they are just as good as they were on the first, which is saying something since the first season features were great from a fan's perspective. They are short and to the point, and once again the deleted scenes add many additional laughs!
"Scrubs" may be winding down on NBC, but if you are a fan these DVD sets will allow you to stay in touch with J.D. and the gang for a long time.
