The Office: The Complete Second Series is a Warner Home Video / BBC Video release and is rated .
Britain's smash hit TV series "The Office" has now given us the treat of a second season on DVD. This television show gives an American audience the chance to see just how funny a television show can be once the censors are taken out of the picture.

Now don't get me wrong this show doesn't take it so far over the top that it turns into a show laced with expletives and scenes of pornography, but it is a sexually charged television show filled with dry humor and classic reactions that it is sure to please just about everyone that has a pulse and isn't looking for a reason to be offended or complain about everything they see.

This is also something you can watch even if you have not seen the first season, which I did not, but my interest was certainly peeked when the show won a Golden Globe as Best TV Series (Musical/Comedy) and I had never heard of it or heard a single punch-line.

To my surprise it took me no time to start to get into the show and I watched all six episodes straight through to the end. The show is filmed to almost look as if it were shot on a home video camera and details the life in the office of Wernham Hogg, a stationary company where the manager, David Brent, is more interested in having fun and being popular than actually getting work done but when the company merges with Swindon things soon begin to change as the new group of well-trained and motivated personnel don't find David's sense of humor so amusing. You will also recognize one of the main actors working in the office as the glass-eyed pirate from Pirates of the Caribbean. His name is Gareth and one hell of a funny addition, he is also pictures right there on the right.

I am not going to ruin much more of the storyline than that since any of you likely to buy this disc will not know what to expect so you will just have to see for yourself.

As for special features there are also three great segments on the disc plus a cool little insert that goes over the "Slough Slang" so us Americans can understand what those blokes over in the UK are talking about.

First off for the special features is a Deleted Scenes section that runs for approximately 15 minutes and has one great biker shorts segment that is not to be missed. Also, you get an outtake reel that isn't as funny as I hoped it would be but it does warrant a couple chuckles.

Finally there is a video diary from writer/director/star Ricky Gervais, which takes you behind-the-scenes of the show and lets you see just how much fun they have on this set and how proud they are of the work they are doing, primarily one scene at the end where Ricky couldn't be in town to accept an award for the show, but managed to tape himself while he sat on the couch watching the ceremony.

This is a classic television show and I urge you to buy it and watch it over and over again. Most often I am not a huge fan of British humor but this one had me rolling.
