My Left Foot is the true-life story of Christy Brown, a severelyphysically-challenged Irish boy whom is mistakenly regarded as mentally retarded by almost everyone. Brown can barely speak and can only control the movement of his left foot. His dedicated mother refuses to give up on him, and his intelligence and personality finally shine through his physical disabilities. Although he must deal with many setbacks, Brown triumphantly becomes a celebrated author and artist.
