Love is in the air as not only Valentine's Day is just around the corner but so is a new collection of "Mad About You" episodes as Paul Reiser and Helen Hunt have gathered a group of their favorite 21 episodes from the entire "Mad About You" series.

Not only does this collection contain the episodes the two actors love, but it also has their thoughts on each one with select commentaries on the pilot episode and the final episode of the series.

So, you may be wondering just how good these episodes actually are, and if this is actually worth your money. I would have to say that depends on a couple of factors. If you want more involvement from the stars of the show than you got in the season one and two DVD releases then you will be satisfied as Reiser and Hunt introduce each episode with 4-6 minute interview sessions.

If you are not accustomed to purchasing full season sets of television shows and a highlight set is more your speed then you have found your baby, but for those of you that love the show and even managed to stay tuned in as the show jumped from night to night, before it ultimately "jumped the shark" then by all means skip this one and wait for the rest of the seasons to be released.

Personally, highlight sets are bothersome, they never have the episodes that "you" think are the best, plus they invariably include episodes because they "should" be included, such as the final episode of this series, which was as dreadful an ending to a classic sitcom as could be as we are forced to listen to Janeane Garofalo spout off as the grown-up Mabel.

However the rest of the episodes are satisfyingly funny and enjoyable as you relive Paul and Jamie's first meeting, their life with their respective parents, their marriage troubles and their attempts to get pregnant, but it all just gets worse and worse as "Mad About You" was a show that slowly declined as the years went on.

Other features on the set include a not-so-funny blooper reel, two featurettes, one on the theme and another on guest stars plus TV Spots that introduced the show throughout the years from the time before the show was ever on to times when it was preempted by Major League Baseball.

Overall, this set is going to be a disappointment for fans that love the show and have their personal favorites, but for the casual TV DVD collector this may be a good purchase if buying the complete seasons just doesn't seem to be in the cards.
