The running time is 2 hrs..

Guy Ritchie made one of my favorite films of all-time with Snatch and while Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels isn't as good it is just as inventive and interesting. So, what happened? Where has Guy Ritchie gone? What has Madonna done with him? Well, if you are looking for any answers from this DVD give up; there is nothing special about it.

Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels the Director's Cut adds about 13 minutes of additional footage, but since I had not seen this movie in ages I was hard pressed to even know what the extra 13 minutes were and to go along with that there isn't a single feature discussing the new cut of the film to be found on the DVD. Instead, all we get are a mini featurette telling us about the editing of the film, and another feature that quickly cuts together all the swearing from the film... far from inventive or worthy of this film.

The pic centers on four small-time gangsters. Eddie is quite the card player and he enters a card tournament with the cumulative savings he and his three friends put together. Unfortunately, the game was rigged and he and his friends end up owing East End big-timer Hatchet Harry half-a-million dollars and have a week to pay. Of course this is a problem, especially considering for each day payment is late it doesn't mean death, it means losing a finger for each day. However, our three boys can't worry about this, and when they hear of a major score opportunity through the wall in their flat they may have just found a way to get the money they need and then some.

Featuring such names as Jason Statham in his first major motion picture, Vinnie Jones and Sting Lock, Stock is just as much fun as it is entertaining. While this special Director's Cut is sort of a piss poor excuse for a special edition, I am happy I own it. Don't go buying it if you are expecting anything better than what you already own, but if you are yet to own a copy then get on board, just look for the cheapest price you can find, I am sure it will be sold for a bargain somewhere.
