First off, Lea Remini is certainly showing the baby weight, so the off-setting hot chick married to the fat guy card can no longer be played. That said, Kevin James' style of comedy is beginning to wear very thin for those of us that have seen enough of this show to remember past episodes, present company included. The comedic stylings of Jerry Stiller as Carrie's father are also running amok and no longer serve as secondary entertainment. All-in-all this show just is lacking the right stuff to make it a consistent buy.
This season the makers do appropriately touch upon Remini's weight gain, but quickly make it all about how fat Doug is after only half an episode recognition. Really, we can't make fun of how much weight a female has gained? Especially in a show that makes at least one fat joke aimed at James an episode?
Nevertheless, this show does manage to serve as late night fall-asleep-to entertainment, but to say it is worth your hard earned money would be overstepping my reviewer shoes' bounds. Keep watching this one on reruns on the Turner networks and skip this set.
