The first episode of the season is a two-parter and features Doug (Kevin James) taking his wife Carrie (Remini) to what he remembered as a place where the two had once spent a romantic weekend together. Turns out it was where Doug took another woman and the weekend and the season goes downhill from there. Carrie gets fired from her job and becomes a regular couch potato, probably so they could put her in sweats as opposed to elegant business attire. One more way to hide the pregnancy and the show suffers for it. That is unless you think watching Carrie do nothing or becoming a lazy dog walker is funny, and guess what, it isn't.
I am not saying this season of "Kings of Queens" is a complete loss; it just isn't up to par. In all actuality we are talking about a sitcom here, meaning it is a show that only needs to provide background noise. I enjoy having these sets around when I don't plan on paying too much attention to what is on the screen, but considering that is the case a season of this caliber is probably better left on the store shelf considering you could pick up a season of "Seinfeld" instead.
