The original King Kong is the 1933 RKO release that focuses on a crew of explorers on an exhibition to a remote island on which they capture a gigantic ape and like all cocky explorers they bring the animal back to The Big Apple where he ultimately falls in love with a beautiful actress who accompanied the expedition and becomes the cause of the great ape's escape and ultimate destruction of NYC.
