Head in the Clouds is a Columbia Pictures Home Entertainment release and is rated R.

The running time is 2 hrs. 1 min..

Charlize Theron blew the world away as she packed on the pounds and became a serial killer in her Oscar-winning film Monster, but now the pounds have been shed and her first film, post-Monster, is out on DVD.

Head in the Clouds is an unexpectedly epic film that tells of the romance between Gilda (Theron) and Guy (Townsend) as they attempt to make things work in time of war. Thrown into the mix is the free spirited Mia (Cruz) as the three live together in a Paris apartment.

The film is primarily told through the lifestyle of Gilda as she moves about in a carefree spirit, or should I say, with here "head in the clouds." Not much matters to Gilda until the only friends she has in Guy and Mia decide to go join in the fight and do their part in the Spanish Civil War.

The conflict of the story resides in the love Guy and Gilda share for one another yet circumstances often times find them on the opposite side of the battlefield, so to speak. Head in the Clouds is a love story that has its hits and misses, but for the most part is a satisfying story of love lost, found and lost again.

As far as this DVD is concerned the special features are at a minimum, considering the only bonus is a short making-of featurette that barely serves as that.

This is a DVD to be rented and forgotten. Hopeless romantics will find it satisfying for a night, but to ever think you will watch it more than once is really pushing it.
